5 out of 5 stars Wow   September 1, 2010

I think this is one of the best games I have ever played. If you're a huge fan of Zelda games (like I am) or adventure games, you will absolutely love this game. Great story, great art, great music and super fun. Get the Wii version. I purposely dragged the game out because I didn't want it to end. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Artistic Enjoyment Despite Repetitive Movements   August 26, 2010

Okami is a really good game for you if you like artistic graphics and japanese mythology. It is about a japanese sun god, Amaterasu, and his Poncle friend, Issun, and their adventures as they battle against evil. I won't give away anymore plot, else that would spoil your own experience playing this game, but I will move on to the art.

This graphics are not filled with completely straight-edge lines. Instead, most art looks like it has been painted and filled with colorful blends that either seem appealing to the eye or sometimes a little too colorful. I sometimes find myself having to look away from the tv screen because there was just too much color! However, I've learned about some of the japanese gods from this game, the main story of course focusing on Amaterasu, that I would not have probably learned or heard from anywhere else. Although, after awhile, the game may exasperate you when you've got to paint certain moves to get on with the game or feed animals all the time to upgrade your stats.

Other than that, the overall game is worthwhile to play. Okami is a unique game with an interesting storyline that will keep you hooked to the end.

5 out of 5 stars Okami   July 23, 2010

Okami is another good, but somewhat odd, Japanesse game that centers around the adventures of the Shinto Sun Goddess who returns in the form of a white wolf in order to restore peace and order to Nippon(Japan). It is pretty well paced adventure game, which has amazing water-colored visuals which results in some stunning look for the game. I think in a decade people will look back and still comment on the visuals and the style of Okami. The actual game itself is a little better than Zelda:Twilight Princess. But it seemed to be easier than Twilight Princess and it took a lot less time. Even with the shorter overall game length, okami still takes about 50 hours to play through with all the sidequests. A unique feature of the gameplay of Okami is the "brush techniques", which are basicaly a freeze frame moment and then a gaint brush is used to draw symbols to execute moves (like slashing an opponent or creating a bomb). Okami was orginally on the PS2 but it was later ported to the Wii and using the wiimote to perform the brush techniques seem like a good idea but it falls short because alot of the time what you draw isn't what is excuted in the game. Overall, this is a good solid but I bought it for only $15 on amazon.

5 out of 5 stars must buy for wii owners   July 19, 2010

Although its a game that came out originally on the Playstation 2, This was a fantastic game to play on the Wii. If you haven't played this game before then you need to give it a try, games like these are rare and aren't made that much anymore. If you are patient with the game you will find a truly remarkable experience, and at this price their is really no excuse.
