Your Favorite Hero in Lego Form

LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures takes the fun and creative construction of LEGO and combines it with the wits, daring and non-stop action from the original cinematic adventures that enthralled audiences everywhere (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). With a unique tongue-in-cheek take on the original adventures, LEGO Indiana Jones follows Dr. Jones escapades through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India. Fans can build, battle and brawl their way through their favorite cinematic moments, from Indy’s entanglements with snakes to his dashing boulder run.

Of course, pop culture’s most iconic archaeologist will whip through all the classic moments with the help of a host of supporting characters including Marion Ravenwood and Short Round. Players can also mix and match the body parts of more than 60 playable characters to create new heroes just as they could in the best-selling LEGO Star Wars games.

Lego Indiana Jones

Key Features

  • Everyone’s favorite fedora wearing hero returns to theaters this May in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and families can celebrate the humor and excitement of the original films with LEGO Indiana Jones.
  • Tongue-in-cheek humor presents The Original Adventures in a manner only LEGO can whip up, with comical reinterpretations of classic Indiana Jones scenes and elements.
  • Use Indy’s signature whip as a multi-purpose tool to attack, disarm, swing across gaps, activate levers and interact with a world of LEGO objects and puzzles.
  • For the first time, LEGO Indy characters are fully immersed in their environment; swim, climb, shimmy across rock ledges and pick up and carry objects.
  • Use a variety of weapons from the environment to fight enemies (e.g., chairs, guns, swords, bottles).

  • Character specific abilities include excavation by Satipo, an umbrella slide by Marcus Brody, and monkey access by Marion Ravenwood.
  • Create unique playable characters like Sallah Scott or Mola Round by mixing and matching the LEGO body parts of all playable characters.
  • Explore the globe and solve puzzles that encourage creative thinking through the use of teamwork and unique building situations only possible in a LEGO world.
  • Cooperative gameplay encourages parents to share the legacy of Indiana Jones with their children in a fun and humorous way.

1 out of 5 stars Nintendo DS version has problems   September 7, 2010
C. Ziemba (Austin, Texas)
This program has a serious, repeatable problem. It causes the Nintendo to "freeze" during game 2 level 5 very consistently (on three different Nintendos: two are DS Lites, one is a DSi XL). I have found this problem on three different copies of this game.

I found that by doing a System Update on a Nintendo DSi XL, the game can be played to completion (ie, it FIXED this freezing problem on the DSi XL.) Unfortunately, it cannot be fixed on the older Nintendo DS Lites.

I would NOT recommend this game for a DS Lite. I would also warn users of the DSi XL that they need to do a System Update if they plan to play to completion (this requires a connection to the Internet in order to work.)

I have made Amazon, Nintendo and Lucas Arts aware of this problem. Hopefully, one of these organizations can solve it.

4 out of 5 stars You can't ask for much more for under $20.   September 3, 2010

This is a great game if you like challenging games, but are easily frustrated when you get stuck. You can't really die. You just lose some of your money ("Lego studs"), most of which you can get back before it disappears. My advice: don't rush through the levels. Part of the fun of this game is breaking and blowing up all of the props on screen to collect studs. If you are just looking to "beat the game," you shouldn't have any trouble. However, there are a ton and I mean a ton of hidden secrets to uncover. The only downside to this is that you'll have to replay all of the levels, but with different characters. This can get tedious. Also, as mentioned by other reviewers, if you sit down to play, make sure you can commit a decent amount of time. You can only save after completing a level, which, on average can take an hour or more if you take time to explore. Overall though a very fun game and highly recommended for the affordable price.

4 out of 5 stars Cool!   August 25, 2010
Gameboy (Louisiana)
Well this is now my second LEGO game. Recently, I had bought LEGO Batman and was enjoying it so much that I went and bought LEGO Indy and LEGO Star Wars II The Original Trilogy. Star Wars is still on it's way, but I have LEGO Indy and played a few levels yesterday. It is soo fun! It has good graphics, neat environments, good gameplay, and really good music like right out of the Indy movies. So if you are a LEGO fan and really like the Indy movies, this is a no-brainer..get it! lol

I thought a lego game would be boring but it has lots of excitement and adventure just like the movie!! The kids love playing this and surprised that it is the favorite wii game. Challenging in the upper levels which is nice!

Get it your tikes will love it too!

4 out of 5 stars Fun game, however   August 17, 2010
S. Wilson (South West, USA)
Its a very fun and entertain game however, this is a port from the X-box. The controls should have been redone with the PC in mind. Using the keyboard or a non-X-box controller is very ocward at times, especially when jumping diagonally. The game does work with a Xbox controller but, I am not going to dish out another 40 dollars for a 20 dollar game!!

My other complain is that the game camera doesn't turn, you are stuck with one view of the game environment. This is really annoying when you have to jump toward yourself!!!

That being said I would give the game a 8 out of 10.
