4 out of 5 stars Pac Man Nostalgia with a twist   July 28, 2010

Missing Pac Man? Galaga? Dig Dub? Ever wondered what they would be like in 3D??? It's a bit intense - everybody does a "Whoa!" at first. But, it's fun! Beginning levels are easy, and the levels do get progressively harder. Single player and multiplayer levels are entertaining. We've played for hours and still keep coming back. It was an inexpensive purchase - so value has been good. The Gator game can wear ya out, The controls on Dig Dub are a bit less controlled. Fun family time.

3 out of 5 stars Buy for the classics, not for the remix.   July 16, 2010
Kristan O. Overstreet (Livingston, TX United States)
This game repackages several classic arcade games with five "remixed" Namco originals. For no very good reason, although only one of the original games involved Pac-Man, all five of the "remixes" feature him- as the driver of the player car in the Rally-X remix, as the target of the aliens in the Galaga remix, as, erm, a jousting marble in Pac-Motos, and as a totally superfluous element in Gator Panic.

The presence of Pac-Man in these games generally doesn't add anything to any of them. Of the five, Rally-X is the only one significantly improved in the "remix," with multiple levels, bonuses, and play modes. Pac'n'Roll is a somewhat clunky (with VERY frustrating controls) 3-D Sonic clone. Galaga Remix is somewhat fun in multiplayer cooperative play, but played solo it soon becomes an exercise in frustration. Pac-Motos fails to be fun no matter how many people you throw at it. And last and least, Gator Panic is merely a whack-a-mole clone brought to Wii, where the annoying fleetness of the attacking gators is only enhanced by the utter lack of satisfaction in using the Wii remote to whack empty air.

So, if you buy this package, DON'T buy it for the remixed games. Treat it as yet another Midway collection of its old standbys... with a couple of rare treasures. The original Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man are NOT on this disc... but Super Pac-Man and Pac 'n' Pal are, and both are VERY rare in the way of home console releases. Even rarer is Gaplus, a sequel to Galaga which allows you, the player, to capture the aliens for multi-shot action! Also included are a lot of the usual Namco standbys- Dig Dug, Mappy, Galaga, Galaxian, Xevious- plus Pac-Mania (without the level-skip option) and an old and justifiably forgotten game crossing Breakout and pinball, Cutie-Q.

If you can find this reasonably cheap (and you probably can), lovers of Super Pac-Man and seekers of the ultra-obscure Pac 'n' Pal will find this game worth the money for that alone... but otherwise it's fairly generic, to the point that the PS2 release of Namco Museum is slightly superior. Still, if you use your Wii for parties or guests (and can't stand one more round of SSB:Brawl), this game provides a viable budget alternative- so long as you don't expect too much.

We had a blast playing these games. Brings back memories of the old Pac Man with some enhancements and more fun.
